Freedom for Spiritual Growth

Freedom Baptist Schools welcomes students from a wide variety of Christian traditions. Students and faculty represent over 70 churches from many denominational and non-denominational backgrounds including Bible churches, Reformed, Christian Reformed, United Reformed, Baptist, and a number of others.

Freedom was founded by a group of Christian parents who believed that school should be an extension of the home. Scripture clearly gives parents the responsibility to educate their children. (Deuteronomy 6:4-9; Ephesians 6:4.) As a school, our goal is to partner with parents in the education of their children. We work together with families from diverse backgrounds for the purpose of preparing today's children to be tomorrow's godly adults.

Freedom Schools emphasizes the Bible as God's complete revealed truth for how men ought to live. We desire that all students and their parents join our faculty and staff in developing a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, being assured of the forgiveness of sins and striving to mature as believers by seeking God's wisdom on a daily basis. The fruit of that relationship should be spiritual growth (lives conformed to the image of God both on the inside and outside) and the desire to share that faith with others.

Our school board, administration and faculty are godly men and women who confirm Freedom's doctrinal statement and fervently seek to teach, nurture and disciple students in Christ-centered thoughts, actions and character. They often provide informal mentoring and counseling as they interact with students on a daily basis.

Spiritual growth is the fundamental focus of Freedom. All learning begins and ends with scripture. The basic question remains, 'What does the Bible say?' This is the basis of our classical Christian curriculum. Historical events and characters are viewed in light of scripture. Literature is analyzed from a scriptural viewpoint. Science and math are the study of the order God put in creation. Questions of our day, from civil rights and cloning, to 'alternative lifestyles' and foreign policy similarly require a biblical view. All of this requires solid biblical knowledge and understanding. Our bible courses provide that knowledge and understanding which can then be used in other classes and life situations.

Weekly chapels, focusing on a specific annual theme, supplement the academics at Freedom. They are not substitutes for church attendance and are not intended to be worship services. Chapel speakers are godly men from many denominational backgrounds who assist our students in integrating academics, Christian service and personal spiritual growth.

Students meet weekly to focus on an annual theme that integrates academics, Christian service and personal spiritual growth. There are many opportunities outside the classroom to demonstrate our spirit of unity and Christian service. These include small-group Bible studies, Christian service opportunities such as 'Doulos Days,' annual cross-cultural trips, and National Honor Society service projects.
